Last night, I was writing a blog post in MS Word online and noticed when I changed Safari (MacBook Pro) from Full Screen to Partial Screen, there was a blue dot under my notifications. Upon additional research, I found that Safari was recording my screen while in full screen mode.
So I used Safari in partial screen mode (default when opening the app) and I did not get a notification that Safari was recording my screen. At this point of concern, I decided to do a little research.
I found in Mac Forums and on Reddit that other people have been experiencing this same scenario as far back as early December 2024. I also found that Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Brave also have the same issue. The only browser that didn't, according to my research, was Mozilla Firefox. So I installed Firefox on both my PC and Mac this morning until Apple can work out the bug or kink in either macOS or Safari. I would have to assume that it's probably a Mac issue in conjunction with certain and multiple browsers.
I don't know about anyone else's opinion or concern, but my personal and business information is not for sale. Furthermore, I have been subscribed to the Cloaked app (not sponsored) for a while now to remove my information from data brokers. While this may sound a little crazy to some, the service actually works.
In conclusion, and this is my own opinion, the US Federal Government should have laws in place to secure US Citizen's Data, not allowing personal information sold or shared for profit under any circumstance regardless of who is collecting the personal information for account creation.
